Dungeons & Dragons Series (「ダンジョンズ＆ドラゴンズ」シリーズ) is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) originally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. It was first published in 1974 by Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. (TSR). It has been published by Wizards of the Coast (now a subsidiary of Hasbro) since 1997. The game was derived from miniature wargames, with a variation of the 1971 game Chainmail serving as the initial rule system. D&D's publication is commonly recognized as the beginning of modern role-playing games and the role-playing game industry. Ryuuken Monogatari (竜剣物語 Dragon Sword Story) is a Japanese light novel, based on the series, and was written by DJ Heinrich, with illustrations by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. Synopsis[]
Johona Menhir (Joe), a girl who dreams of becoming a knight of Penharigon, embarks on a journey from the speculum to Penharigon's Three Sun Castles. In the village she got lost in, she happens to meet her longing knight Flynn. Joe wishes she would become Flynn's servant in order for her to become a knight of the Three Suns castle. However, the former "Majestic Flynn," who left behind numerous heroic stories, left the castle due to the betrayal of his companion and his wife, abandoned being a knight and hid in the mountains. Set in the world of "Dungeons & Dragons", the origin of RPG, a magnificent heroic epic about the dragon sword "Worm Bright" is unfolded.
