Fire Shrine Maiden (火目の巫女 Hime no Miko) is a Japanese light novel series written by Hikaru Sugii, with illustrations by Kawagishi Keitaro. The series began publication on February 10, 2006 by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko publishing imprint.
The series won the Silver Prize in the 12th Dengeki Novel Prize.
Synopsis[]
The country was threatened by a strange monster called "Metaplasia". Only the only "fire eye" who keeps the bow called "Hiwatari" can counter the metaplasia. To the firefly in the palace, where those who aim for the fire gather. There were three fire-eye candidates called "Okashi", Itsuki whose village was burned by metaplasia, Yoshino who was blind and innocent, and Tsunewa who was innocent and talented. Fighting the encounter with the metaplasia, escape from the firefly. The three experience various hardships, sometimes struggling, and sometimes helping each other to deepen their ties. At that time, the power of metaplasia increased, and the decline of the fire of the present generation began to be whispered.
